March: Easter 20 months ago

My DH and I enjoyed Easter.

Here’s a bit of the Easter service experience as I commented on SFL’s entry of “Easter Vigil.”

We’ve attended church services with our family members. This was new and fulfilling because we took that first step as a couple together seeking a place that suits us.

February: Cauliflower Soup 21 months ago

Last weekend I tried a NEW recipe using ingredients that I haven’t prepared in a soup before: cauliflower and leeks. After cooking these vegetables with seasoning and broth, the recipe instructed to put the soup in a blender.

I hadn’t blended soup before (I associate blenders with frozen concoctions—smoothies mostly) so here’s a NEW cooking technique that I tried. Well, it was astonishing! Just like fancy restaurant soup.

New, filling, fulfilling!

January: Joined a Book Club! 22 months ago

I’ve always wanted to do this, but never had before, so here’s the NEW experience. It’s been FULFILLING to take that step and actually do a thing on my mental list of “I always wanted to do that.”

A few months ago, I noticed that a woman at my office had started one. I didn’t know her at all. I didn’t think our paths would ever cross; however, we were in the same meeting last week! So I talked to her about the club, and I found out which book was selected for the next meeting. I got the book at the library this past Saturday. I haven’t been able to put it down since then.

The meeting to discuss the book is mid-February. Can’t wait!

Ideas Off the Top of My Head 23 months ago
  1. See Chicago Wolves (hockey)
  2. Go to the planetarium
  3. Take a winter bicycle trip
  4. Visit different churches with my DH
January and February – Hibernation months for me, so to take advantage of inside activities:
  1. Put our digitial photos on flickr or some other online repository
  2. Get all the photo albums filled
  3. Get X amount of music from our vinyl and CD collections to our iPods
  4. Create a database of our vinyl music collection
  5. Perfect a repetoire of bento lunches (including a master grocery list for the rotation)
