this one might just be something i’ll have to do on my own. i want to drive to a city i know nothing about and try to make enough money in one day to drive home. play songs, do magic tricks, etc for tips on the street or something else. i’ll have to think it over more, but i see it being totally outside my comfort zone which is pretty much how adventure works to me. this is also an experiment to see how capable i am of living in the van and travelling across the country without any funds.

kayaking! i forgot that the kayaking goal counts as adventure. there is a place near where I live called Turkey Creek Sanctuary. I’ve been to the boardwalk there many times and it looks out over the creek and hammock area where you can kayak to. i’ve been wanting to get up there for a long time and now i’ve made a goal out of it so it has to be done.
the second part of this goal is to help other people experience the adventure they are lacking and that might be the hardest part. as much as a person might want to do something, it gets too easy for them to just stay home. this kayaking trip might be easy for me to attract people to because it’s very accessible.
there is a trail that goes from one end of a marsh to the other end twenty miles south. you can not get off the trail except for at the beginning and at the end. the trail is on the levee that keeps the marsh from flooding the nearby suburbs. on both sides, alligators reside in large numbers. i will ride my bike the whole way and back stopping in the middle for a while to enjoy being at least ten miles from anything resembling a phone. i’m not sure why, but it feels somewhat comforting knowing that I can escape from the “conveniences” that we need in our lives. maybe adventure two will be on the moon. maybe i’ll save that for number fifty.
