get a pet

It’s weird because I had just been talking about getting a puppy a few weeks ago, and one just appears to me at work one day!

I was sitting out back smoking while one of the kids goes to through the trash. He comes back up to me and tells me there’s a dog sitting by the dumpster. It turns out to be that black puppy, and he’s surrounded by a dog bed, food, and some toys… so obviously he’s been abandoned. I took him inside and sat in the manager’s office and played with him. After calling my mom and step dad, who I live with, they said it would be okay for me to keep after a few tests and spaying him. Then I actually thought about it and – It’s another excuse for my mom to yell at me about something I may have forgotten or done wrong (He could pee on the floor, get hurt by my other dog) and to be honest I don’t really have the money to take car of a puppy right now.

So another girl I work with took him back to her house and her friend is going to keep him. I least I know he has a good home now, but I miss him already.

Isn’t he just the cutest thing ever?!

Of course, I won’t be able to get one for a while, a very long while. I’m back living with my mom and she already has a monster German Shepherd, who could possibly tear him apart. I’ll have to wait til I move out or at least until I’m more financially stable.

But he’s too cute to wait that long for!

I’ve been thinking about this for a little while and decided on getting a fishy. Since my dad hates animals and I have a very curious baby sister, I thought just a small fishy to sit on my desk would be nice. If I had a choice I’d probably want a small dog or a cute little lizard, but oh well.

A fishy would be alot easier anyways. I’m always in and out of the house and wouldn’t be able to give any other pet the attention it needs. I’m thinking about getting one of those Chinese fighting fish. No matter which color they are, it’s always pretty, and I love their long, thin, fins. Plus they don’t need a filter or anything, I can just buy a bowl, some pebbles, and a castle for him.

Hopefully I’ll be getting him soon, probably around the same time I get my license, in early August. Gah, what should I name him?!
