My second batch of yogurt is simply delicious. I am glad I gave it another chance. It is simply the most delicious yogurt I have ever had. The texture is perfectly smooth and firm and the flavor is delightfully pure and mild. Go for it fellow yogurt lovers, make your yogurt. If I can do it, anyone can, and I did it without a thermometer. All that I can say is SIMPLY DELICIOUS.

:( Sad Face. My first batch of yogurt is a little thin and lumpy, but the flavor is OK, although, perhaps a little more tart than I would like. I tossed that batch, though I hate to waste food. I am currently making my 2nd batch. I think the 1st time around, I failed to incubate the yogurt long enough and the fact that I didn’t have a thermometer didn’t help either. Overall though, I’m willing to keep trying b/c I like the idea of having yogurt with less additives than commercial ones. SO I’m at it again. I will post an update in approximately 10 hours or so when my second batch is processed and cooled.
I am on my way to fulfilling this goal right now. I have milk and culture going in my new yogurt maker (just arrived today). I am concerned because I don’t have a thermometer and you’re supposed to heat the milk to 185 degrees then cool it to like 115 degrees. I just guessed the temperature, as I am thermometerless. So, we shall see how my very first batch of yogurt turns out in 5 hours from now. I’ll keep you posted!! Hello? Hello? Who am I talking to? Is anyone out there? :D
I would love love love to buy one of those yogurt machines and make yogurt at home. I love yogurt, it is sooo good, sooo refreshing. I can’t explain it, yogurt is yummy. So my goal is to make yogurt at home before this year is out, that way I can add less sugar to it than commercial brands. I can even make it with other kinds of milk, like almond milk or even rat’s milk (just kidding).
