In my early 30’s, I returned to school—while raising three children, keeping a marriage going….I went to college to become a nurse.
I learned so much more than nursing….I learned a lot about myself. One thing I learned is that I was smarter than I’d ever believed possible….and that I could write! And I loved to learn new things.
Both of my college English professors told me that I have the ability to write if I chose to do so. That, my friends, was many years ago.
I became that nurse, and feel I have a gift in healing so that education was used wisely and well to help many people—-but they also helped me to develop, learn, and become a better human being.
Then at 40, I became very ill; had surgery, and in spite of my positive attitude, I never regained my health. I attempted to continue working in spite of the suffering I was enduring, but finally, seven years later, I had to stop and go on to social security disability. That is a story in itself.
A few years after being disabled, my husband had multiple strokes the day after Christmas, so he is now blind on the left side of both eyes, cognitively impaired, and cannot drive nor work. Thank God, I can still drive some days!
So, as I face my “senior” years, I think it is time I begin to seriously consider writing that book that I know lives within me. Why can I not get myself started?
I tell myself things like…..what would I do after I write? Who would publish an unknown?
I am open to any suggestions to give myself that push
I obviously need!
Thanks for taking the time to read this—-One day I would love to write a book!
