learn music theory

and I am putting this on hold for the time being because of time constraints.

The review went pretty quickly, which scared me, but the learning of new stuff is actually going at a reasonably easy pace. Others (even the ones who seemed to be the know-it-alls) now seem to be on the same level as I am. Whew.

for Theory II. This class is no joke. The prof asked some questions at the end of the period and, while they sounded vaguely familiar, 3 or 4 20-year-olds (i.e., half my age) who took her course last semester chimed right in with the answers. Whew. I guess if it’s too hard, I can switch to the intro class.

Not only that, I asked my boss if he would sign a form that would allow me to get tuition at the county rate; I knew it was a bit of a stretch, since I’m leaving my job in about a week, but he got all legalistic about it and made me feel like I was trying to pull a fast one. So I have to suck it up and pay the extra $300.

sigh

i talked with the theory prof at montgomery college yesterday. she thinks i should be in the first level class. i told her i was worried about it being too easy. she said, “well, if it is, then you can drop it and then take level 2 the next semester.” can’t she see that i don’t have TIME for this? i need to learn NOW!!!
