get rid of 43 things I don't need

Threw out four bottles of ancient body spray and shine spray (for hair). The body sprays were all gifts; I never used things like that much, and I don’t use them now because of the chemicals in them. I hate to just throw stuff out since it seems like a waste, but these are so old now that I wouldn’t want to give them to anyone (even though they are totally unopened). The shine spray was a product I used to use on my hair years ago. I still have an unopened bottle of that, but the opened one was looking completely unusable. I should probably just throw it all out, but I need to move slowly so as not to shock myself as I try to overcome my resistance to throwing stuff out. :D

Does this count?

A couple of orphan socks I’ve been keeping for months (years?) to see if their missing partners came back to us. Tossed them in the trash this morning. Not sure if this really counts as two items, but why not? :)

Ancient package of sundried tomatoes – into the trash. I checked the shelf life on this new site I found, StillTasty and it said to throw them out.

5 pairs of shoes into the trash – falling apart, don’t look good, and no longer worn.

3 pairs of shoes into the Goodwill bag. One dearly beloved but uncomfortable, and I don’t really wear such high heels any more. If I wanted to, it wouldn’t be those ones. They are gorgeous and someone should wear them.

8 old undergarments that are either worn out or uncomfortable.

• 5 items of clothing
• A couple of games
• An old computer bag

Also, one old bra went into the trash.

I’m only going to count this as ONE thing, but I’m getting rid of a lot of old teaching stuff I don’t use (recycling it mostly) and I think it should count as something under this goal.

Our old tent – given away for free via Craigslist.

At least9 things went to electronics recycling today.

That’s a good solid start on this goal!
