I’ve tried a few colored pieces, now. I had the best luck with the translucent pigments. The pieces I cast using opaque pigment came out rubbery – really bendable. Even after over a week of curing. The translucent pieces hardened nicely, though.

Ok, so I tried to make a small resin thingy. I just used clear resin; I didn’t add any pigment. I attempted to drop a blue flower in, just to see what happened. The blue flower turned yellow. But, on the bright side, the resin hardened nicely and popped right out of the mold. So, now to experiment a bit more, and maybe get creative!
Today I went out and bought… supplies… according to the book I have, I needed a mold or mold making material (I went with an inexpensive pre-made mold to start with… more worried about learning the process than being completely original right now.) I also bought the mold release conditioner, some pigments, and epoxy resin and polyamine hardener. I’m pretty excited about getting started, but I’m going to wait until the kids are asleep before I try! =)
