Just Do It!

Forget the books, the cameras, the tapes/films/whatever, write the script. It’s the hardest part but it’s also the cheapest and the easiest to fix. Get It Right! You’ll spend two or more years of your life putting it on the screen and that’s a bad time to find out you never really liked the script.
Write easy pieces first. Two or three pages. First practise telling a story in a few pages, then focus on whittling down the dialogue to a believable few sentences per character (have people read it aloud) and finally focus on how you can tell the story visually. Just do it!
