be a better friend and email/phone/see friends on regular basis

i’ve reconnected with one of my dearest friends from the university. we’ve had such a special friendship and shared a lot of common interests but after i went to switzerland and she to the states, we completely lost touch.

i recently got invited to ‘linked in’ website, where professionals connect and people can get a job and i looked for her – and there she was! i wasnt quite sure how she’d react to my invite but she was really nice, just as i remember her!

i m meeting her up next week and i m sooooo excited!!! it’s been almost 5 years now…

i know this should be about me trying to be a good friend but i just have to give it to my/our friends that turned up for K’s b-day party yesterday.

imagine a room full of people who you truly care about you all making a huge effort to make the best possible b-day celebration ever :) incredible :)

we had so much fun and we laughed a lot and i think they enjoyed the food (hopefully they did, although i have the say my homemade houmous was not as good as in marrush or souk;))

what i was really pleased about was the fact that the gifts were picked thoughtfully. they didnt have to be very expensive (doh!) as long as they incorporated the things K really likes and wants. they made K very happy and i find it shows their affection :)

some spent the night here and we had some nice breakfast… it just made me feel so connected and supported and… i really truly appreciate all of them and love them to bits.

we’re calling them afterwards to thank them all for coming and for making it a very memorable evening.

friends are the best :)

i actually talk to boris and alex every day now. i’m helping alex with the documents he needs for ireland, it feels great now that we reconnected. boris is in belgium now and we’re almost as good friends as we used to be. although i don’t think it’s ever gonna be the same…

and i might be meeting buti today – he’s in town on business and he’ll try to make time for a short coffee break.

still – it feels so weird and unnatural – we’re all working now, we all have completely different lives, we live all over the country – while we used to live in the same dorm and did everything together, partied all the time, slept till noon… ;)

i’m glad my friends are supportive of my moving to london, it helps me deal with my insecurities. (what insecurities, you want this! yeah but there’s so much competition! so what, you can make it! but what if my english is not good enough for livning and working in ldn? ooooh please! i’m serious! give me a break!)—> see how i fight with myself every single day ;)

ooooh i was such a good friend this week! wrote personal emails to 5 people and met up with three! oh we had sooo much fun! and i’ve learned that 2 of my friends went to live in ireland (and i was wondering how come they dont return my calls) and two of them are moving to ireland this year (good that i called tham!) and two are going to work in africa for 3 months next year! waw! i am sooo glad i chose this goal!

today i am meeting with another two friends to watch the mondial!!!!
