gliding backwards

I went to a public skate this afternoon. I’ve almost got gliding backwards down. It feels like I’m getting close to skating backwards but I’m missing something in the mechanics. I hope to have it down by next week.

I enrolled in a beginner skating class today. First class starts this Saturday.

goal completion guidelines
I’ll consider this goal complete when:
  1. I can get up on my own after falling down
  2. I can execute sharp turns
  3. I can skate backwards about half the length of the rink
  4. I can perform a hockey stop

found places to skate

The local parks and recreation center has two facilities with ice rinks. I got my district resident pass so I can now get discounted admission rates. I’m planning to do an open skate session this week or next.
