Well, I heard about a book called Getting Things Done, by Dave Allen. It has great reviews on Amazon. I am hoping it will inspire me.

Well, I have a routine written out and am working on it regularly. Sometimes I don’t finish everything, but I am making improvements. I should be vacuuming right now instead of being on the internet…. so, I still have room for improvement. I get derailed way to easily. That is my biggest problem right now. I also need to get healthier.
Well, the baby is 3 1/2 months old, routine? what is that? I feed him on demand. gotta go… guess who is hungry. lol
Well, we are in the new house, I’m 28 weeks preg., I’m working part time and my daughter is in Montessori part time. So, There is a little bit of a routine going just because I am working and need to be there on time. I will only be working for 6 more weeks. I am working on my weekly routines again. laundry yesterday, kitchen today, bathroom tomorrow. I can’t sleep regularly because being preg. means I just don’t sleep sometimes. Anyway, I’m trying again to get back on my routine.
I have a contract on a house and the lease expires here before we can move into the new house, so we have to put everything in storage and move to another apartment this weekend. And, I found out I’m pregnant this week! Yea! We’ve been trying for a while. Anyway, I have relatives coming for Thanksgiving and Christmas and my finances are being stretched quite a bit, but over all I’m happy. My routine is totally off right now. Maybe in January once we are moved in to the new house I’ll get back on track, but right now it feels like I am just hanging on to the ride.
Well, I am sticking with my plan, but I noticed that my Saturday back-up plan is taking effect when I am stressed out. I just couldn’t get my self to wash the car on Thurs. so I did it on Sat. Which still fits into my guidelines, so the last 3 weeks have been a success. The only problems now are getting my 5 year old daughter to stop making so many messes. I don’t have the willpower right now to be consistent, so I’m going to wait until we buy a house (hopefully this month).
I can’t believe how well this is going for me. I am really taking forward steps. They all build upon eachother. I love having a clean kitchen. Yea! I succeeded in my weekly plan last week and am continuing this week. I cleaned the bathrooms and now I just have to do something fun with my daughter (special fun).... :)
This will require several steps.
First I must master my “basics” routine. Eat meals and drink water regularly, go to sleep at about the same time, Take care of my basic hygiene needs daily, make clean clothes and dishes available when I wake up, daughter’s bedtime routine adhered to.
Then, add in cooking and cleaning routine:
Mondays = wash clothes, linens & vacuum all rooms
Tuesday= grocery shopping & clean kitchen thoroughly
Wed = clean bathrooms & special play day with daughter
Thursday = car & pets/plants/porch
Friday = Bills & date night with husband
Saturday – make up day (for anything I missed)& special chores
Sundays off & personal hobbies day.
When my house is “acceptably clean at all times” and when my health and hygiene needs are met on a daily basis. I will have succeeded.
So, my alarm watch is going well, but it doesn’t work for me on weekends, so I am just using it M-F.
I am a woman, but I bought a very ugly man’s watch. It has 12 alarms on it and I can type text into it. Anyway, I set the alarms for basics (food/sleep/play). morning routine, breakfast/lunch/dinner, play school with my preschooler, bedtime routine for daughter at 8pm and for me at 10pm. This all sounds basic, but it is a challenge for me. When I get this “set” I will have a routine/framework to add more to. I am very excited about my ugly watch! So far it is working well.
