Western or Oriental?

My heart doctor has advised me to take a walk round half an hour every day or 1 hour three times a week.

I have failed on that advice for months now. Also, I wonder if oriental types of exercise will be great equivalents for such aerobic effort. Like Tai-Chi or Wushu or something else?
