I’m looking forward to giving django and webpy a try. These are two reasons I’m going with python instead of any other language. (ahem… rubyonrails)

I’m on Chapter 5 of diveintopython. It’s hard to stay focused and excited becuase, well, I just don’t care about the sample code. Don’t get me wrong, the book is great, but I want to be working on my own project. I just wish there were more tutorials out there on how to build a specific type of program. It seems like all the tutorials I can find are just walking through each thing python can do, one function at a time.
Maybe it’s just late (or early). Maybe, once I learn python, I’ll start writing some more simple tutorials.
So, MeLrnPyMo is over, and I didn’t reach my goal. I didn’t have a good teacher and I uh, just failed. Now I’m using http://www.dickbaldwin.com/python/Pyth0001.htm and it’s a good start so far
I realized that I’m not going to be able to focus on writing my novel until I get this nagging feeling of needing to learn a programing langugage out of my mind. So, I’m giving up NaNoWriMo this year for MeLrnPyMo. My goal is to learn Python and write my frist web app by the end of Novemember. We’ll see what happens.
