Walking down the road of life these days,
I say “It’s been a while since I’ve seen
all the sun’s bright rays.”
But you just hold me tight and say,
“Yes I know, let’s just walk a while
and see where this path goes.”
So we walk together hand-in-hand
Headed for the promised land
Though I don’t know if our paths might stray
I just thank God for where I am today
Today… Is where I want to be
Walking in the light of God’s love I see
The turns up above opening up to me
Through the fog of uncertainty
I’m at ease with eternity by your side
That’s where I belong
Keeping on taking the right turns and I can’t go wrong
Focus on the face and faith of a fallen man
Who reaches out to us and holds us
With His nail pierced hands
Today… Is where I want to be
Like fireworks falling on the 5th of July
Announcing another day of you in my life
I hope hold your heart
In the light of the stars giving promise
To pierce the dark night
And as each day now become the past
I know that our next step, it won’t be our last
