Even closer!

I just finished up my second year! Just one more year of classes, and one year of clinics and I will be done!

Well….except for that whole getting a job thing. Let’s hope I can find one of those somewhere….

3/8 there

semester 3 down. Woo!

Oh and I got a scholarship award, bam!

1/4 of the way

Hooray, I passed my first year of vet school!

pulling calves and c-sections

I was able to observe some beef cow c-sections the other day. I even got to assist in pulling a calf who apparently didn’t want to be born via c section. So cool!

Track Decision

My school has a tracking system that allows you to take more courses geared towards the species you prefer to work with. We have to make our decision this semester to start scheduling for fall. I have chosen the “mixed” category so that I can take food animal and equine classes.

1/8th of the way there!

Finished up my first semester and I am surviving! Actually I’m thriving. So far I’ve ended up with a 3.6. Here’s hoping next semester goes just as well!

My Mentor

I signed up for the VVMA’s mentor program at the beginning of the semester, and I finally got to meet my mentor and her co-workers this past week. It was amazing and I got to follow them around and see some procedures I hadn’t seen before.

Well I'm in

I reached that next step. I received two offers from vet schools and have decided on Virginia Tech. Here we go!

Horses

The vet I’ve been volunteering for (small animal practice) asked me to come along on a barn call. We ended up examining and vaccinating 30 horses. It was a lot of fun, and I really learned a lot.

VMCAs

VMCAs came out last week. Here we go!
