i went away for 2 and a half months to do some quite physical work – i worked on farms for 25 hours a week in exchange for meals and accommodation so i was eating really healthily but was eating loads of veg fruit etc. however my husband broke his ankle so we had to come back early and its been really hard to keep up the good work. so i’ve had to make sure i’m not eating as much. but now theres no unlimited source of fresh fruit and veg that i can just pick and eat and no easy way to burn it off in everyday life. so its a bit harder.

OK I have done a lot better today. Although I had two glasses of wine in the garden this afternoon and felt quite drunk, I sobered up with a good meal and lots of water then did some yoga. Which I haven’t done for a week due to various other commitments (then coming home and falling straight into bed). I am definitely getting better at the relaxation part – whereas before I would panic and think ‘oh no i cant relax’ but today even with 10 people outside my window chatting I still managed to do alright and feel very good afterwards.

And I’m managing to keep up the litre and a half of water each day. Pretty easy in hot weather though.

i was very bad this week and have eaten so many crisps that i dont ever want to see a packet of crisps again.

currently downing a juice of grapes, 4 large strawberries, a handful of raspberry mush and two handfuls of alfalfa sprouts. delicious. had a longish walk today after i managed to haul myself out of bed (very tough indeed) down to town and back again and ended up not buying anything at all despite intending to spend a load on food and bits. but they didnt have anything i wanted at the market. still can’t stop eating bourbons though.

I was an angel today and resticted myself to just 3 biscuits instead of 3 packets. And for breakfast I had a juice which was 3 carrots, 3 pears and two handfuls of alfalfa sprouts. Then peanut butter on toast. Then for dinner I made asparagus risotto from scratch! Go me! Actually pretty simple but I’m not a great cook so it was a good achievement, tasty and made me feel good for cooking something excellent.

Vegetable box arriving tomorrow with lots of summery veg! Lots of tomatoes and stuff. Ordered extra strawberries and raspberries so I can have a berry smoothie on Saturday morning. MMMMMMMMMM!

Also treating my mind like a temple, read a good book today about veganism (still toying with the idea of going back to it – it would only be a small step now as I can’t eat cow dairy anyway nowadays). Quite inspirational, may have to practise a few more recipes before deciding whether to go back to it, I doubt it would be much of a challenge as it was before.

i noticed at the bottom of the page, quite a few ppl have suggested that this goal is really the same as eating healthily but personally i disagree as i believe in treating the whole body, mind and everything as a temple. and including exercise, making yourself happy etc counts much more than just eating healthily. well that is what this goal means to me anyway.

so far i aim to keep up with my eye exercises, drinking more water, eating more raw fresh organic foods, keeping up yoga, working on personal ‘demons’ and generally working my way towards equilibrium.

So far.... 19 months ago

So far…..this ties in with my eating more green goal. So far I have stopped binge drinking, takeaways and given up caffeine entirely. And am already vegetarian with no cow products. So I think I’m well on the way. I am not overweight but I would like to have more stamina, strength and to be a LOT more supple! So have started to learn yoga and have found the benefits to be instant and great.

Currently am drinking water! Next thing on my list is to finish off the lemon squash in the fridge, then cut out aspartame out of my diet. Have downloaded a documentary about the dangers of aspartame for inspiration.

Quite a few people on here are interested in doing yoga but if you can’t find a teacher or are unable to commit to a class like me, try going to www.yoga.org.nz as they have a great free video for beginners to download and I have done really well with it.
