declutter my house

I have done great on this goal. I went away and moved all my stuff into my parents for storage. So I had to downsize loads of stuff then. I just sorted out what i wanted to get rid of then advertised on Gumtree as a whole load of bootfair stuff.

Then after travelling with just a backpack for 2.5 months really made me realise how little possessions I really need. So i have started clearing out the rest of my stuff and have filled four boxes so far and have loads more to do.

Also started scrapbooking cards and photos which has got 6 boxes down to about 2.

my husband was wonderful and sorted out heaps of the clutter in the house and put stuff in the loft that can be sorted out later. So now the plan is to sort out the stuff in the house and get rid of stuff via freecycle/church jumble sale then get boxes down from the loft one by one and sort them as we go. This is getting more and more managable by the day.

started with decluttering! did paperwork today. not all of it as thats just loads. but i spent about 2 hours sorting through my old file (where everything used to be vaguely organised until about 3 years ago), got rid of anything out of date, organised bank statements into order & filed, got rid of any over 6 years old. separated mine and my husbands paperwork for ease. now i have a whole box of stuff ready to burn in the firepit next time we have a dryish day.

its amazing how short a time it actually takes once you get round to organising, lets hope the rest of it is as easy!

I still don’t want to have to move more stuff than absolutely necessary, then spend time unpacking it, then having to sort it out in the new place. plus if we do move, its for work so we will have less time to sort out all the junk. So best to start now. Whether we are moving or not. One box/drawer/cupboard etc at a time I think.
