For a long time I’ve been wanting to get back into shape. Last fall I lost 15 lbs and almost 30 inches off my body from exercising and eating right, and I gained it over the last several months.
Not Anymore.
I made a choice. My family has exercise equipment downstairs that I can make perfectly good use of, and we have a pool in the backyard for the summer… I can walk outside or in, and I’m cutting back on the icky junk food I’ve been eating lately. It doesn’t help that I work at a bulk food store, and we have a ton of junk food, candy, snacks, and not-so-healthy choices of food along with the healthy food, of course.
This is what I’m going to do
-No more eating meals after 9. If I work late, I can have a snack.
-No more bringing home candy on a regular basis (Only as a treat once a week-that’s IT.)
-Continue drinking water, just more of it.
-Drink at least one glass of milk each day.
-Portion sizes!! (I’m going to do smaller meals and more of them)
-Chose healthier alternatives for snacks, such as fruit.
-Cut back on carbs, not cut them out, but again, portion sizes.
-Make use of the pool. I only swam a handful of times last year. Swim at the very least, twice a week.
I will surely come up with more guidelines for myself, and when I do, I will add them to this list.
