i went to shark reef in las vegas, at mandalay bay. we had a chance to walk under glass tunnels where sharks swim over you and around you. even though they seemed calm and relatively uninterested in us, i was still creeped out when they came right at us. i’m glad we were in a glass enclosure. not bad, though, as a few years ago, i wouldn’t have even gone near the attraction. i’m glad i took that extra step to go and stand ‘near’ the sharks as they swam near us… yikes!

my fear used to be so bad that i was afraid of getting into the swimming pool. gradually, i’ve become a regular at the pool at my gym. my friend will be in australia for 2 months and i have to say, i’m curious about the cage diving option; as in getting into a cage and viewing the great white sharks from the cage. i know that’s crazy and that i’d probably never do it, but it feels like great strides to be remotely interested in it at this point.
