the graduate student center recently decided that while it will continue to provide free coffee and tea for graduate students, it will no longer provide styrofoam cups. if you want coffee or tea, you need to bring your own mug, or they sell travel mugs at the gsc. it must really be working because yesterday in the women’s bathroom there were three of us at the same time rinsing out our mugs so we could get more tea or coffee.
ive been carrying my own mug for years, but its nice to see whole student groups making a push like this.

I was pleasantly surprised by my results. previously, i was living in a really rural area so my car driving habits were really high. now that im living in an urban area, i have better access to public transportation. also im very lucky that my work site cafeteria has a section of locally grown products, and a farmers market on the corner every wednesday. i should start buying more food there.
