I’ve been running over 4 miles in the morning before work. It’s actually really nice and really beautiful and I can’t think of a better start to a day. Today I did 4.5 miles in about an hour (that includes some stairs, hills and pushups.) I’m not sure what just my 5k time is. Maybe this afternoon I will try just a 5k and see where I’m at. Or maybe I’ll just go drinking, I’m not sure. ;)
I’m three days into training. Today I ran my fastest mile at 10:34. I did endurance training today but I’m still only running just under 2 miles before my lungs give out. I think by the end of next week or the week after, I’ll be up to running the 5K distance no problem.
I trained for two months late this summer for the OC Race for a Cure. I even raised $1800 for my team, Team Tough Titties. I never did a race before and I should have started closer to the front because I lost a few minutes in the beginning trying to get through all the people. My time ended up being 36:46, although during training my best time was 34:30.
I got Nike+ and it’s pretty awesome. I highly recommend getting it for anyone that is anal like me and needs to monitor every bit of progress. Or, anyone that loves apple as much as i do. Or, anyone that can afford it.
Since that race in Sept ‘06, I tried to keep running but after a few weeks it dwindled. I’m back on track now. I hope to get down to near 30 minutes by Feb. 23rd for the LA Race for a Cure. How ever as of this week, I’m still trying to train my lungs to run the 5K again. I should have never stopped running!
