Hike more

I am supposed to go on a hike up at the river. I hope the weather holds and the trails aren’t too muddy. I am very much looking forward to it ^^

to go hiking today, actually ^^
I dunno whether I’ll manage to drive up to the trail so I can… but I sure intend to. ::lol::

There is one more big hike that I want to do this year. After the leaves change a bit more, I need to hike back down a mile along the river and get to the huge twin oak trees and take the last picture in my photo project of those trees. I have one picture in every season- all I need is autumn. I also want to get some spring water before the spring dries up again or it’s too cold for me to go out there.

Made the short hike to the part of the big field where the lone hawthorn tree grows. I was a couple of days late- most of the fruit had fallen to the ground already but I got a decent hand-full.

It was a good little hike.

Hiked down by the river last week and took all sorts of lovely photos. Even splooshed around in the river, since it was very low. I was sad that all of the springs had dried up because of the drought and hope that they swell full again before it gets too cold to visit them. I have a fancy to collect some more spring water.

Also made it down to the hawthorn trees at the back of the field. The haws have a while to go yet before they are red and ripe. I still want some.

I’d be hiking more right now. I have a special place down by the river that I like to hike to: There are two huge oak trees there and they are magnificent. There is another spot where a spring flows from beneath some oak roots.

I also hike in a neighbor’s field because they have hawthorn trees and I find hawthorns very beautiful. Also, I want to eat some red haws this year, now that I’ve located the hawthorn trees. hee
