Oops, I missed yesterday. >.< I think I was lacking F&V’s, but I did have more of that juice, so maybe I’m covered.
Today:
~ granny smith apple
~ apple cider (2 servings of fruit)
~ lots of veggies in my pasta = 1 serving
~ grapes as a snack
Oops, I missed yesterday. >.< I think I was lacking F&V’s, but I did have more of that juice, so maybe I’m covered.
Today:
~ granny smith apple
~ apple cider (2 servings of fruit)
~ lots of veggies in my pasta = 1 serving
~ grapes as a snack
~ some fruit at the picnic
~ some fruit at the play
~ 8oz of the fruit juice that counts for 2 servings (thank god! without that, I wouldn’t have made my quota for today!)
~ 2 granny smith apples
~ vegetable stir fry (orange pepper, some carrots, onion, garlic; 1 serving)
~ 2 glasses of V-8 juice that’s a serving of vegs & fruits in each 8oz serving (so, total 4, if they can be believed)
~ potatoes and green bean leftovers (1 serving)
Total: 8! Though it’s totally b/c of the juice. I wish I could by the Itoen carrot juice in this country. I used to drink it all the time in Japan to help up my F&V count.
Without the juice, I’m still at 4, which is better than 3!
Did well today!
~ granny smith apple (no surprise there)
~ mashed potatoes
~ green beans (OMG love green beans!)
I’ve already got my lunch packed for tomorrow, and it’s got leftovers in it, so that’ll be tasty.
~ granny smith apple as morning snack
~ carrots with lunch
~ chicken veggie soup for dinner
Whoo, got three today!
I think I only got two things today. :/ It seems like more, but when I think about what I ate, I really didn’t eat all that much today in general.
~ granny smith apple
~ fruit cup
~ some carrots at dinner, but not an entire serving
Looks like I’ll have to try harder to get at least 3 F&V in on the coming days. Who would have thought it’d be so hard? I guess I just love carbs. bad bad girl
I have a storage container from that company, and I used it today to take carrots and fruit yogurt to classes. Carrots were nice and chilled and super crunchy. I like this thing.
I had:
~ 1 banana on PB toast for breakfast
~ 1 serving carrots at lunch
~ 1 granny smith apple with dinner
Hrm, that’s only 3. It felt like so much more! Guess I’ll have to try harder and not drop below 3. That’s how I’ll set mini-goals: 3 fruits/veggies a day.
There’s a Farmer’s Market at a school near my abode, and my housemate and I went this morning. Lots of organic and fresh fruits and veggies! Made me wish I hadn’t been to the grocery store. I ended up buying some tomatoes, which I didn’t get at the grocery store, and they’re lovely (had some on a sandwich for lunch). Also picked up a few hot peppers and some sun-dried tomatoes (YUM). Bought some fancy cheeses, too (an 8-year cheddar and a harder goat cheese), and supported local growers, which felt awesome.
I think I’m also going to try and keep track of the fruits and veggies I eat. Lunch was tomato slices on toast (2) with feta and a granny smith apple.
I can’t wait to eat my new food!
I bought a fair number at the grocery store today, which will help. if they’re in the house, I’m more likely to eat them! Especially granny smith apples, so I bought a big bag of those. I also bought a some sort of container that keeps things fresh for a long time, so I can take things with me to school and they’ll be cold and crispy.
I hope it works!
