go to kenya in 2010 ! <33

i am beyondddd excited!!!!! this morning, i mentioned to my mother that its always been a dream of mine to travel abroad to volunteer! she encouraged me to look up opportunities, & i came across an absolutely amazinggggggg organization that has over 150 travel abroad opportunties for volunteering, & i showed her information on a trip to go to Kenya, Africa to work in an orphanage with children who have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS, genocide, or other situations. it involves teaching the children, feeding them, LEARNING SWAHILI, taking them on day trips, counseling them for their losses, & living on-site, pretty much gaining rapport with them. this particular orphanage is non-profit, running directly off donations, & gives these underprivileged children food, shelter, & the education needed to move on to private schooling!
well, my mother said “ABSOLUTELY”, and she wants to go as well!
we’re filling out our applications, & we’ve already researched airfares & funds we would need. THIS IS REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN. i’m ecstatic…this has been a dream of mine since i was little !
