I started to write a children’s book several years ago, with intention of it being short. I never finished it. I could not come up with an ending and the more I tried, the more the book grew, until one day it was way, way too long and unfocused. At one point during writing it, I was reading Ayn Rand and its influence is evident in the work, as the book begins to takes a very “un-childlike” philosophical tone..way too philosophical, unfocused and long -
I have gone back to look at it and think it might have potential if I write an outline first, but I would have to develop the story differently and an ending.
