My Child is Past Daycare Age

I have had good luck with daycare since my daughter was born, but now she is 11. She’s tired of daycare – all the activities are “stupid” she says. Last summer she stayed home alone quite a bit. I work about two minutes from home, so when she called because there were vampires in the fireplace, I ran home to block it with pillows. LOL. I don’t want her to play on her computer in the dark all summer, which is what she’ll do, so this summer I’m using as much vacation as possible to be with her in the afternoons, and my husband is doing the same. I have paid off all my debt, so maybe I can quit by the end of the year! I know it would be better for my family and my sanity!
