Let’s say that, for whatever reason, you had to leave all the trappings and associations of your current life and start over elsewhere, alone, new house, town, state or country – new name, new job, new everything . . . Like the Witness Protection Program, only less fraught with danger. You can take ONE thing that links you to your old life; everything else, you have to walk away from.
What would you bring to your new life?
And – if you got to pick the place where you would start your new life, where would it be and why?

I’m joining up. Although I don’t know about the “daily” thing.
Round One:
Do you have siblings? If so, how is your relationship with them as an adult different than it was as a child, and what led to the change? If not, how do you think you would have been as someone else’s sibling, and do you think not having one has been a major factor in your adult personality?
EDIT: I suppose “growing up” is the obvious answer to “what led to the change” – but was there a specific experience that led to an obvious shift?
