Yesterday one of my teachers gave all of her students this article and asked that we pass it along to as many people as we possibly could, and encourage them to do the same. It talks about the environmental crisis and the Bystander Effect, a psychological quirk we humans have wherein we won’t react to impending danger if we see other people around us not reacting.
Please read. And pass on.

I just read the article that Abs passed along, and then passed it along myself to many people . . . hopefully it will strike some chords. I’m staying with my parents at the moment and they have gotten into the bottled water kick, which means huge amounts of plastic bottles every week . . . I’m going to see what I can do to change that pattern.

I know I launched this team in a previous incarnation and yet lately I have been miserable about doing anything beyond the usual recycling and such. I didn’t even make it to the Step It Up rally, although I’m glad that some of you did. I hope to make up for it this summer.
