I read “Simplicity’s Simply the Best Sewing Book,” and don’t feel like I learned much. The book was full of sewing terms I’d never heard of and it had no glossary. I looked up the terms elsewhere as I went along, but . . . it’s still Greek to me.
I opened a “very easy” pattern for a skirt and find the pattern itself and the instructions baffling.
I’m still struggling with threading some thread onto my sewing machine. It will be a while before I actually use the thread on a piece of fabric (I estimate it will be about 17 years after the 5 years it will take me to get the thread properly attached to the proper thingies).
I’ve been thinking that maybe I need to take a class, but I wonder if a beginner’s class would be too advanced for me. I’m the sewing equivalent of those people in Intro to Computers who need to be shown how to turn on the computer.
