Fall time 2 months ago

So it is fall time now. Not so good for my garden – not a garden. My garden is just several pots on the deck, some of them certainly I will take inside, some maybe transplant to other pots and help them live more. But the other will die with the first frost. Well, in nature they would die anyway, the annuals. But I will miss them, they green, leafy colors and scents. Boooo, season changing…

first tomato!!!!! 4 months ago

Hey, today my husband and I ate the first tomato from our little cherry tomato plant. It was little, orange guy. Very tasty. yum, yum
More of them is still growing.
I forgot to take the picture though. What a shame. Next guy will have its own portrait for sure.

As for other plants they are growing like crazy. I would have never imagined that little plant can be so efficient. Basil, mint, sage, rosemary – there is always abundance of them. We eat a lot of veggies and use lots of herbs, we cut them constantly, but they grow and grow again. Of course weather helps a lot, sunny days change with raining ones regularly. I am so proud of my little plants.

Chives, dill and oregano are not such champions though. Well, maybe they are more seasonal like dill. And next time I will plant oregano in different pot and different place. Oregano is growing, but definitely could do better.

Pepper plant has got flowers so far. We are waiting for fruits eee vegies;-))))

Inspired by matt2point0 I bought a small pot of cherry tomato. It it growing nicely, but I am slightly concerned about the “harvest”;-)))), as it’s been raining soooo much recently, and tomatoes need a lot of sunshine. But, but, but, the summer’s just begun so there is a hope. With little red tomatoes or not, another green plant in my garden looks cool.

The rain though was a blessing for the herbs, they are growing like crazy. I cut them regularly and add to salads, but they grow fresh and grow and that is so GREAT.

Actually we have a garden. Not real one, in a way that we have some land, but we have a nice deck, and each year my husband and I are transporting the plants from the house to the deck, and we buy also seasonal new plants. This year my husband made three huge pots of herbs, that is great, now whenever I make salad I go and check how is our deck herb garden doing, and cut whatever I need.
We have:
oregano,
dill,
parsley,
mint,
thyme,
basil,
chives,
lavender,
lemon verbena (I do not know what to use it for, but I like aroma).
My goal is to have a real garden, but this is connected to moving into a new place, new house with a garden or a yard. So far I like what we have now and make sure to water the plants regularly etc.
