Fix up the new building and transform it into a studio

We couldn’t afford them before winter, so now we’re still saving for them. Ugh. Expensive. It’ll be worth it, I hope.

Met with someone last week to talk about skylight installation. It’s going to be a long and expensive process. But hopefully by winter, we’ll have skylights over there and I’ll be able to paint there.

and we’ve been working on the outside. We’ve tilled up lots of the weedy icky ground and planted some wildflowers and mulched them. I also planted some hostas and azaleas today.

Slooooow going. But kind of fun!

some more today. Awhile back we put in sleepers and P added plywood sheets on top of that. Today we put in insulating underlayment and started putting in the bamboo laminate (i.e., the actual flooring). It’s slow work, but it’s going to look great!

We have cleaned the building, painted what needed to be painted inside and out, and have started installing a floor on the art/painting side. P put his woodworking equipment in the woodworking side. We’ve also been getting the necessary permits and inspections, estimates on glass block windows and skylights, and info about installing a greenroof.

I’m really looking forward to being able to paint (on canvas) over there!
