1. I wasn’t in the mood for the gym or the treadmill, so I took a long walk outside instead. It was nice and chilly, a beautiful fall day.
2. In my weaving project, I finished sleying the reed. Next I thread the heddles. I’m making some dish towels. Ramona watched me for awhile, and was asking to learn to weave. I might see if she has enough coordination to learn to weave potholders.
3. I made potato cauliflower curry and spicy Indian beans for dinner, with jasmine rice and (store-bought) naan. Yummy, although inexplicably the curries weren’t as good as last time.
4. Abbey (dog) kept doing the thing where she walks under my legs and tries to pick me up until I got up and took her and Martha (other dog) for a walk. Funny and motivating.
5. Ramona got mad at me on our way home from school, and said, “When we get home, I might tell you that you’re the ugliest mom in the world!” She didn’t, though.

1. When we realized we had no hot water, I called WeEnergies, and they came quickly and were able to fix things before I left to walk Ramona to school. A contractor working in our neighborhood had taken something apart and left it that way, leaving us without gas. Rude!
2. The cortisone shot I got in my thumb joint didn’t hurt when I got it. It hurt a lot later, but at least I had a few hours before that.
3. Ramona had a play date with her friend Anna. They played together the entire time with no discord, and Anna’s mom and I didn’t have to intervene even once! The only unpleasant part was making Ramona leave when it was time.
4. P, M and A waited on me when I couldn’t use my hand all evening because it was so painful from the injection.

1. I discovered that our stove wasn’t working (I thought—it turned out to be the gas) early enough to put minestrone in the crock pot instead. And the minestrone was really yummy, too. Thanks, Mark Bittman!
2. A got her new glasses. They’re really cute.
3. Ramona and I played dolls for awhile. She’s really into pretending.
