Det er let at snakke dansk. Yeah right. :D
Danish is really something. After 18 hours of classes I’m a bit confused. Well, a lot actually. I am enjoying it, though. :> It’s so cool to learn a new language and get to know more about the countries near you.
It’s not too difficult to read Danish, I’ve been doing well with that. But the pronunciation… Oh boy. :,D I’m going to have a stroke over the Danish d soon, it’s completely impossible for me. It’s also hard to remember all the rules, like how diftongs work and when different voices are silenced.
And of course I, like every other person learning Danish, need to mention the number system. I guess it’s known all over the world that Danish has the most peculiar system with numbers, ehe. I’m actually not doing too badly with them, but I do admit that it is difficult to remember that 50 means ‘half three’ in Danish. 60 is ‘three’, 70 is ‘half four’, 80 is ‘four’ and 90 is ‘half five’. Logical, right? :P
Also: our teacher, mister Boe seems to have a fixation on my name, because on every single class he throws multiple questions in my direction, using the name list as his weapon. Or maybe he just likes the colour brown; I happened to write my name on the list with a brown marker.
It’s not too bad, I just hate looking stupid in front of everyone and the truth is that I haven’t gotten too many of the answers right.
“Emiiilia, don’t you have female logics? What is autumn in Danish if spring is forår?” o__O At 8 am, no, I do not have female logics.
It’s a shame that we only have two days of classes left, 4 hours next Thursday and 5 hours next Friday. And then the course is over. It would have been a lot easier to have more classes, it’s difficult to learn things by yourself. Especially when there’s so much else to do in addition to just this one course.
