I guess it has to be said now that September has begun and trees are starting to wear yellow and the temperature is dropping and my hands get cold when I’m outside and school semesters have begun:
Summer of 2007 is over.
This was most definitely a really good summer, even though there were some pretty bad things too. Still, I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed summer this much.
I’m happy to say that this goal has been accomplished! n _ n

There’s this little place in Pori, in the west coast of Finland, that I love. It’s called Reposaari, which means “Fox Island”.
I’ve spent so much time there, mainly as a kid. That small town is magical in some way. Beautiful old wooden houses of all colours, slippery rocks and waves waves waves. The sea surrounds you from every direction and the wind messes your hair.
My aunt Leena and my cousin Frans live there and I went to visit them last weekend. I truly enjoyed being there; a trip to Reposaari (at least once) during the summer is a must.

Last weekend was really nice. Our big local event went quite smoothly and it was so good to have my friend Lily here.
I had intended to write about everything we did together but there were just so many things and I’m feeling lazy right now. :D
The market was cool too, we had lots of people here in your small town (I heard someone say 10 000 visitors) and it was nice that I got a moment off from work to explore the area with Lily.
In addition, I’ve been walking around barefoot quite a lot
+ I’ve also eaten cotton candy! C:

Whoa, I am super busy this weekend because we have this huge local event going on in my town and my mum’s part of the group who are organizing this whole thing, so it’s pretty much work work work around here.
I was afraid that this weekend wouldn’t turn out so great, but since my lovely friend Lily has been here it’s been wonderful! n _ n We’ve had so much fun already and we still have a whole day left!
But, like I said, I’m busy and it’s getting really late here and I really should try to get some sleep before tomorrow’s big market event. I’ll cover all of this much better at a later point. :D

I had a very summery day today. n _ n
Swam twice, rode the bicycle a lot and just enjoyed the nice weather after so many grey days.

I had my first real ice cream of this summer on Monday! :)
If you’re wondering how it could have taken me this long to eat ice cream it can be explained quite easily: I’m a popsicle-girl. :D I always choose them over ice cream.
But my ice cream (apple sorbet, actually) tasted very good and it was nice to sit outside on a bench (the one nearest to the brick wall) with my mother when the sun finally came out from the clouds and I had to watch my fingers so that the melting ice cream wouldn’t smear them.

I went to a wedding yesterday, never been to one before.
It was quite nice, summer weddings are a spectacle just by themselves.
At least I can say that I’ve now been to one! :D
It looks a bit like the weather could be getting better,
maybe I can start swimming again, yay! :>
I still really want to go to a proper music festival (I’ve never been to one of those either, how embarrassing) and to an amusement park and eat cotton candy there!

This music event has just always been a part of my summer activities. It’s nice to walk around in the crowd, explore the booths on Jazzstreet and find pretty little artifacts.
I realized yesterday, when I was circling the place with my mother, that we’ve never actually gone to any concerts at Pori Jazz. :D But we don’t mind, I think we go there mainly because of the atmosphere.

My sister promised that I could come with them to Moominland if she’s taking her family there this summer~ n _ n
I’ve also managed to walk around barefoot a little bit. Yay.

I’m not a huge fan of strawberries, but when my mother bought a box of them today, I smiled. They smelled amazing and tasted quite good too with sugar on top of them.
Otherwise my summer has turned somewhat bittersweet but I still like it in some weird way. Even sadness can be beautiful.
