become a big sister

I met Masen today! He is absolutely adorable. He’s missing his two front teeth on the top, haha. He took me on a tour of his school, and told me about how he got to see the Special Olympics when they were going on here last month, and then we played with Hot Wheels cars. I am so so so happy! I get to visit him at school once every week and eat lunch and play with him. His teachers and councilor say that he needs this relationship from the program, but that he is a great kid. He seems to have a hard time sitting still, but that’s fine with me; the more running around, the better. This is just so great.

I got a phone call today from the leader at my local BBBS, saying I’ve been accepted for the school-based program, in which I will only see my little on school grounds, either at lunch or after school. I’m meeting up with my little – a first grader named Mason – in a couple of weeks to see if we’re a good match. I’m so happy!
