I’m going to use this goal as a means of documenting new things I’d like to try. I think I’m going to plan to make short-term commitments to myself as an experiment in creating routines and having the self-discipline to stick to them. Maybe one month, I will commit to going to the YMCA three days a week to swim laps. Or for a couple of weeks I could designate one or two hours every day to free writing and expanding on previous writing projects. Then once I’ve done many new things like this, I’ll be able to decide which things I liked best and which I think I’d be interested in making time for regularly.

Reading (maybe I could designate different weeks to reading all works by the same author – Hooray, it’s Kurt Vonnegut Week!)
Yoga
Tai Chi
Embroidery
Quilting
It might be cool if I could alternate weeks where I’m focusing on something physical and weeks where I’m focusing on something else, like writing.
Eventually, I think I will want a routine that includes a variety of different activities and projects woven together, but I’m trying something new with this project.
