become Whitman's child who went forth and goes forth every day

I adore this poem by Walt Whitman. I read it for the first time in my junior year of high school, and it has stuck with me ever since. To absorb everything that I see, every person I come in contact with, every experience, good and bad, every place that I go, this is what I want to do. This is the person I want to be: the child that went forth, and goes forth today, and will go forth each and every day to come.
