I have Eustachian tube disorder and my doctor says that a hearing is most definitely influenced by it. I have to wait until this situation is resolved before I can get a meaningful hearing test.

I tried this a while back, when I finally found a GP to be my doctor. Turns out I have re-occurring barotrama and they couldn’t do the test until it was cleared up.
My ears have been popping and generally feeling weird when I’m exposed to loud noises for the last few months. Since I’m probably going to max out my health insurance deductible this year, it might be time to get this done.
I am beginning to wonder if there is something really wrong with my ears.
Last week I was at a concert, (a strangely not-too-loud concert) and this woman behind me was whistling, and every time she whistled my ears would physically hurt and I’d get this strange scratchy/muted sound in my left ear.
Then this week I was in a training for work. 25 people in an over crowded conference room. I happened to be sitting directly in front of the instructor, and she was talking loudly to be heard over the unruly crowd. I’d be in physical pain whenever she was shouting, throughout 2 full work days.
I just don’t really know how to go about getting this done. I have pretty decent medical insurance, but I haven’t ever been sick in years, so the only doctors I’ve been to in 8 years are the dentist, the gynecologist and the optometrist. I don’t think any of them have the tools for a hearing test… Maybe I need to add “find a doctor” to my goals.
Spending lots of time with the family lately and I’m realizing how much hearing loss runs in my family. So many folks can’t seem to talk without screaming. I’m realizing they can’t hear themselves! (And their voices (and TVs and radios and ringtones-my GOD THE RINGTONES) are so ridiculously loud they are damaging the hearing of everyone else)
