Giving it another week to really be sure of the habit.

Is a bust. A 4 day week, with 2 lunch meetings. I have no lunch food in the house and will be out of town so I’m not going to shop for food that will just spoil. Lets see what happens when I return.
Has been too social. Every other day I seem to have a lunch date with some friend or another. I’m still packing my snacks though and so I’m not out of the habit entirely.
The habit is even engrained enough that I’m tempted to mark this as done. Lets wait and see what happens when I get back from vacation. Things always tend to get rocky when it comes to re-instating new routines after a trip.
I’ve done this almost every day for 2 weeks now. Very pleased with myself.
I did go out for lunch this Friday, but that was a planned social thing, not just laziness.
I brought my lunch every day this week! I still bought a salad or a bowl of soup to compliment my lunches. Much better than buying the whole thing, and probably as well as I can ever hope to do.
I’ve just reopened this goal, after marking it as completed 27 weeks ago.
I’ve completely fallen out of the habit. Week by week my lunches got smaller and smaller so that now I’m only brining in a snack and buying my lunch in the cafeteria again. I just can’t face another turkey sandwhich. Call me crazy, but I don’t really like bread and thusly am not crazy about sandwhiches either. I need to come up with something I can bring in that I can stand to eat 5 days a week!
This is my biggest 43 things success so far. I think its safe to say that this is a habit. I don’t even have to think about it anymore in the mornings.
I have gone from spending $5.50 every day in the caffeteria to $1.55. I still buy a bowl of soup because I found I need hot food to feel satisfied, but I bring my own sandwhich, fruit and a snack.
I managed 4 days per week for the last 2 weeks. That is really good! I probably saved $30 so far. I’m not sure when to call this completed. I’m traveling next month, and that always throws a wrench into all my new habits. So, if I can keep this up threw October I’ll call it completed.
So far I haven’t even made it through this for a whole week without missing a day. But today was the first time I just went into the kitchen and started making a sandwhich without really thinking about it. Its like its starting to become part of my morning routine.
Also for the first time since I’ve been living alone (2.5 years) I went through a whole loaf of bread before the expiration date!
I managed to remember to bring a lunch four of five days this week.
I’m not really satisfied with my meals though. I might try bringing in a frozen meal next week to see if that works better for me.
