So I’m calling this done, because I’ve managed to do it through poor and lean times and never really even questioned doing it. I love it, even though I’m just giving money away to a church I rarely go to. I set a standard amount that is about 10% of my take home (give or take, depending on the OT) of $200/mo, and I’ve been writing a check every month this year. I don’t plan to stop, as I love giving SOMETHING even if I’m not good at giving to anything else. Yay me! Money is not the most important thing in my life and this proves it! It that American Consumerism!

So I’m not being the best at actually ATTENDING church (and that’s not likely to improve with the sunny weather arrving), but I’m still mailing in a check. I love giving money away far too much. My friend and I were talking about this the other day: there are some things that the Bible tells us to do, that society says just shouldn’t be fun. Like giving away hard-earned money. Yet I love it. It’s still hard some months, but I feel so much better doing it, and I know my tiny church could really use it. Lesson: society ain’t always right.
