Start a community garden

so, this goal was to start a community garden. I like that better than “finish” goals, LOL. in any case, the garden is well on its way, hopefully we are getting the final $1000 from our neighbor garden to get the rest of the materials.

This Saturday I will be digging and helping to build a retaining wall to even out our sloping site. Hopefully in just a few short months there will be compost, maneur, and other amendments, and I can plant some cold-season crops like peas.

the meeting went great – they are breaking ground in January. There will be 10 plots, 5 are already filled. If I’m lucky, I’ll be able to get a plot and get my grow on!

I got in touch with the group who is starting the garden. Their first meeting is this coming Tuesday! I feel like I may actually be able to knock this out faster than I thought possible!

so I have found a community garden that exists on paper only. I am waiting for a call back from the organization that is supposed to be supporting it. I can’t wait!
