warped :-((((( 2 years ago

Deep Purple “Made in Japan” was the first record so warped I could not play it at all. Oh well, not too bad as that is my first one.

3 more 2 years ago

Frank Zappa – Joe’s Garage: This was so fun listening to this on the headphones reading the liner notes.

Dio – Intermission

Pat Benatar – In the Heat of the Night

I decided to remember my Don’t Eat Brown Bananas goal. I had picked up a Duran Duran album feeling that if I don’t record these albums now I will not be motivated to record them after getting all the “good” ones done. I realized that if I never record that Duran Duran album I will not be disappointed (there are a few songs to remind me of high school but nothing I could not live without).

The last 2 Blackfoot albums are now done:

“Siogo” tonight. I had not listened to this one in so long. A few good tracks.

2 double albums 2 years ago

Beatles White Album
Beatles Blue Album

I decided not to move 2 other Beatles albums to iTunes. They were the 1st 2 live recordings. Sounds like they were recorded on a portable cassette deck (I seem to remember that when I first bought them too).

half way done 2 years ago

AC/DC ‘74 Jailbreak was the halfway point!! Another 86 (many are double or triple albums though). This is terribly out of alphabetical order as I just keep reaching in and finding an album I am interested in right then.

What to do when finished??? 2 years ago

I really do not want to move 4 cases of albums after recording them (still have a long way to go). What did you do with the albums after recording them? I know that ones like original Green Apple label Beatles albums should be dealt with on their own but what about the “Wang Chung” type albums? Most of them have been cleaning up well with “Soundsoap”.

very slow going 3 years ago

I got the turntable back again. Seems to be working fine now. The slow portion is recording them into Garage Band, splitting the tracks, importing ti iTunes, convert to AAC, read files into Soundsoap, remove click/pop, resave. Takes about 1 hour to do each album. I can make a bit of progress by recording the next album while cleaning the previous one, but this is going to take a LONG time.

short lived 3 years ago

Well, my turntable is acting up again so back to the repair shop. This time it appears to be a problem with the switch. Hopefully they will not charge me the minimum labor again ($60).

What a gold mine! 3 years ago

I got the entire computer desk filled with audio equipment to start this goal. I only have GarageBand so far so the editing is a bit rough. I will also need to clean the pops/clicks but I am moving forward. It looks like it will be years to do all the copying! On a better note, it is bring back all sorts of old memories (or more accurately, memories of NOT having memories – these are all albums from the mid 80’s).

Eventually I will have to figure out what to do with these.
