Time is flying

Just spent an evening with a very good friend and learned that his wife is 2 months pregnant. I hadn’t seen him in more than 6 months. This is a guy that really was my best friend for many years.
We’ve simply gone on with our lives which aren’t geographically close and we have to make an effort to get together.
The good thing is that we do find the time and we do just try to pick up where we left off.
I think that we both are aware of the value in our friendship even if our visits aren’t regular.
