Today I made a concoction of of chickpeas and broccoli. I was trying to make falafels, but it didn’t quite turn out that way. me and my wife wound up eating a couple but through the rest out. Well I guess there is a first time for everything.
Today me and my wife made a dish with clams and mussels that we never made before. In fact i have never cooked whole calms or mussels before. The dish cam out great and we made a lot extra for leftovers the rest of the week.
Today I listened to a new band that I never heard. A friend of mine was going to their concert in a few weeks and asked me to check them out to see if I wanted to go. There name is Yo La Tengo. I like the them, they sort of reminded me of a cross between Radiohead and the Gorillaz. Either way I found out that the concert is the same week as a ski trip I had planned so I won’t be going anyway.
Me and my wife went to a Japanese place that we had been to a couple of times before and we decided to try a new piece of sushi. We tried a Kamikaze role which consists of a California role topped with spicy tuna. I like it a lot. I am going to try and get a new role every time i go out for sushi.
Today I installed a Microsoft office product on an apple computer for the first time. I purchased Microsoft office for Mac and installed it on my newly purchase macbook. Same old same old when it comes to the integration and functionality. It’s nice to be able to use it on my mac now.
Today I had to do a group training with our software package and meet a lot of new managers that will be working for my company. I had to spoken to some of them on the phone but it was the first time I had meet them in person. It’s weird putting a face to a voice. I have a different picture in my mind every time.
Today I tried out another new program called AutoRun Architect 2.2 which automates the creation of an autorun.inf file for creating CD’s that start up after you load them on a PC. The program was a free trial and would only allow the autorun to work on my machine. I would have to purchase a 19.99 license in order for to work on CD’s that I could create. It was just a test and I learned that it can be done with out the software. In the end I wound not creating an autrun CD. I am still looking into a way to easily create a Table of Contents that loads when you insert a CD with files on it.
Today I was supposed to meet at a bar with friends to be part of a surprise engagement. Unfortunately the plans changed and I showed up with no one there. So I called some people and apparently I was about a 1/2 hour early. So I ordered some food and I told the bartender (who’s a friend of my brother) that I would like to try a new drink. He made me a cherry vodka with club and although it was new it was not that good.
Today my something new was small, I cracked an egg with one hand. Even though it was my first time I thought it turned out pretty good. No shells and all yolk in the bowl. I will try and perfect this so it will be my normal thing instead of my new thing.
Today was a fun something new, I played PlayStation3 for the first time. I found it a little more frustrating than I thought it would be but I guess it was my video game hiatus. None the less it is a really great system and the graphics are a amazing. Unfortunately it is my sisters boyfriends system and I probably will not get a chance to play it again anytime soon.
