I Shall Wear Purple, (Forgot the Red Hat) 2 years ago

I don’t even know what this means. I read a few entries by other people who want to “grow old disgracefully” and it didn’t help. Someone even copied the “went I am old I shall wear purple” poem. What???

I think I first read that poem about 18 years ago. I liked the first line “I shall wear purple”. I didn’t even pay attention to the “red hat” line that came nexted. About six years ago I started see the Red Hat Society stuff popping up in catologs. (red hat pins, tee shirts, etc.) and I thought, “what the…?” A mini industry had grown out of a poem about aging!
