Little Gal is a sweet girl. Here she is, eating an hibiscus flower just before I take her outside.
She is a 4 year old Sulcata tortoise.

I work in the evening (4pm to midnight) so I have my mornings and afternoons at home. On warm days I love sitting under the mulberry tree in our backyard; reading, writing, watching one of the tortoises walk around looking for things to eat.
I love looking at the sky and the green of the trees. I listen to the distant sounds of the neighborhood.
I have been blessed with good health and good genes. I have now reached a milestone in my life. I have turned 50. My blood work tells me I need to make exercise and watching my weight a priority.
It may be a cliche, but, without your health money doesn’t matter.
My 12 turtles and tortoises; specifically caring for them.
Albert, one of our box turtles, loves to go outside. He will run up to the front of his box when I come into the turtle room and “beg” to be taken out.
This week I opened all the turtle doors at the same time. I was taking Edy out went I looked over and Albert was hanging out of his box looking at me. I jumped over and grabbed him. It is a long way down if he fell. Oh, Alberto!
