Be a better friend

I have been friend with two girls since sixth grade – over 25 years. Both friends have had kids, whereas my husband and I decided not to. Both live within a 50 mile radius from me. We try to get together whenever we can, but it gets frustrating. I have been in my home for 4 YEARS and my one friend has yet to even come visit, whereas I have visited her several times. That really hurts. Granted, I know this is what happens, people get married, have kids, and life gets crazy, but still, it really hurts. I also try to arrange things that are kid-friendly, but to no avail. I am always one to make plans with these two and make arrangements. I am also always the one to send cards, emails, etc. when a special occaision happens. I am having a party for my husband this friday, and once again, neither can come. I am really hurt and want to say something, but not sure how to go about it. I am just sick of it and ready to look for other child free people like myself.
