Is it really happening??

Well, since four weeks ago, I’ve lost almost five pounds! I think I check the scale too frequently, because it feels like this process is moving very slowly, but I guess it’s really happening. My diet changed in December when I quit eating meat and dairy, and I’m certain that has had a lot to do with how I feel. I feel healthier and can jog much longer than ever before. But I don’t feel like I’ve lost weight. Still don’t want to put on a swimsuit! Good thing summer’s not here yet – it only just turned into Spring time. :)
I’ve been jogging 3-5 times per week, and increasing my time and distance slowly. I’m going to keep doing that (along with my meat and dairy-free diet), and hopefully the pounds will keep coming off.

Wish me luck!

Day 1

Okay, I’d like to lose 20 lbs in the next four months. So that’s about 1.25 lbs per week.

Any advise??

Try, try again...

Okay. I thought I’d be 15 lbs lighter since I last said I was going to lose weight, but I fell back into old eating habits and didn’t lose a pound. I want to try again, and this time as a New Years resolution. My sister’s birthday is coming up in February and we’ll be hitting up the hot tubs and saunas, so that means BATHING SUIT TIME! I’d really like to feel good in the swimsuit, so I’ve gotta really work hard now. I will jog and eat right. I will!!

Well, I guess I can report good news and bad news. The good news is that I have refrained from eating bread, refined sugars, and chocolate for about three days. And that’s a big step for me! The bad news is that I probably haven’t been eating the right foods for health and nutrition. I had the last couple days off from work, so I ate things like chip and dip and drank a bit too. Ugh.
But I know myself and I know I can really only take this (or anything) one step at a time, so for me to not eat bread, sugary foods like candy, and chocolate… that’s a great big step forward! I guess it’s time to go forward and work on making more healthy food choices, like eating more fruits and veggies. I will try to limit my caloric intake to about 1500 cals per day. I know I can do this, I just need to take it a little more slowly than some people I think.

So now, no bread, no sugary foods, no chocolate, and more fruits and veggies! Here I come!

Day 1

Okay, I’m heading into my first day of dieting. I’m planning on low cal intake, and NO chocolate or sugar! :-) I’ll write about my progress tonight. Wish me luck!

Time for Change...

In just the last few months I have gained quite a bit of weight. I started a job in food services where I get free food, and lots of it! So I’ve been taking advantage of this and eating wayyyy too much. Not only have I just been eating too much, but a lot of the foods I’m eating are high in sugars. I’m ready to start eating better and lose the weight. It’s going to be a challenge for me because I’m surrounded by food all day. Also, I find myself eating after work simply out of bordome. So I’ll have to work on that too.

I’m going to try dieting for 3 weeks (that’s 21 days, ending Oct. 28). They say behaviors become a habit after 21 days of it, so we’ll see. :) Wish me luck!
