Here we go again 1 month ago

I decided to make a move on this again. My theory has expired since I passed it over 2 years ago.

I remember saying that if it took me more than 2 years then I would just give up forever, but that’s ridiculous.

I updated the DVLA to let them know my new address so I can get a new provisional with the paper counterpart. Then I booked myself in for a theory test on December 15th.

I don’t think it should pose too much of a problem since I managed it before with only minimal practice, but I think I’ll put in a bit more effort this time.

I think it’s really time to get this goal off my list once and for all!

Passed my theory test today 2 years ago

I turned up 15 minutes late for my appointment because I was sure it was at 18:00, not 17:45. I had forgotten my confirmation letter, as well as my driving license paper counterpart…

Luckily I was still allowed in after everyone else.

I got 30 (minimum allowable score) out of 35 on the multiple choice part and 61 out of 75 on the hazard perception.

I’ve now got a maximum of 2 years to pass my practical test, or I’ll have to re-sit this test.

I’m taking little steps, slowly but surely.

Procrastination for the loss! 2 years ago

I’ve not really bothered doing any driving for a while now, and I really want to just pass my test already… I have a standing offer for free driving from my mum’s boyfriend, but I just keep planning other things instead. It’s stupid.

So, today, to remedy this situation of inaction I’ve booked my theory test! :D

Unfortunately it’s not going to be until June 19th, but at least it’s booked now. I have no reason to back out of it, so I better get on with learning. :)

New provisional 2 years ago

I got my replacement provisional license the other day. I can now put myself in for the theory test and stuff. After that it’s just a matter of being put in for my practical test, then failing it, and trying a couple more times. ;)

Getting there, slowly but surely.

First lesson over 2 years ago

I had my very first driving lesson today.

It was kind of condescending being asked what the car does when you press the accelerator… I’ve driven for a bunch of time in America, and a bit in Germany recently, but oh well.

I didn’t stall the car, I didn’t maim or kill anyone, so I’m calling it a successful start! :D

I was going to buy some driving lessons this month, but my dad still didn’t call me back with the number of his friend who is an instructor. I decided to spend pretty much all of my money for the next couple of months on going to Germany over Christmas/New Year instead.

I’ll sort this one out when I get back.
